Today I was kissed by creativity. I was in my local art store, JWS arts, I was looking for YES paste for some of my challenge pieces, as I was walking down the aisle gazing at all of the glorious art supplies,
I saw it and I was struck by inspiration. I saw a brown paper mask. At that moment I was struck by the realization it was only my lack of imagination that was keeping me working on 8"x8" panels. I decided then and there that I was going to branch out and try working on other substrates. I'm going to keep it small, but I'm going to try different things. Not only am I trying a new substrate I am also trying a new tool. I was using a wood burning tool and dipping it into the was to make the purple and blue marks on the white. This mask was challenging, when I was heating the wax to fuse it, it quickly got runny, and with all the curves in this mask, it was tricky not to melt the wax
off and also not singe my hand!
Stay tuned And see what I am going to get up to tomorrow!
